Growing up, Becca and I visited our grandparents in Eastbourne (the southeast coast of England) every summer. We learned about all things British – ‘minding the gap’ and saying “trousers” instead of “pants”.
This summer, Becca and her husband had an amazing opportunity to live abroad for a few months. Now, one half of The Sonflowerz is living in England!
Becca would say it’s a ‘dream come true’ to do daily life in Britain for a short time. Re-living her childhood summers in one sense (except with a job), while she works for Integrity Music, a record label, helping other worship leaders and songwriters share their ministry on a global scale.
At the same time, we are keeping busy releasing the devotional book Made to Shine. Family Christian Bookstores is now carrying the devotional (for teen and pre-teen girls) along with Amazon, CBD and Barnes And Noble!
The separation of an entire continent cannot stop The Sonflowerz. On July 16th, you can meet Elissa at a Family Christian bookstore at 10:30am for a book-signing event! Bring your girls and friends! Becca may even video chat from the UK.
I’m a big fan of FaceTime, as you can imagine, now that Becca is in a different time zone. Our latest conversation involved showing me a few items from a recent shopping trip to Brighton. She doesn’t claim to be a fashion expert, but one thing she saw trending is floral prints on blouses, tops, and trousers (we don’t call them pants anymore)! So, we can expect to see that for at least a few more years.
I’ll keep checking in with Becca and give you all the important news!
